Dimes energy, an Oil drilling company founded in 2015, has had many lawsuits in Allegany NY due to crude oil on the ground, leaking oil wells, and failure to mange pit fluids. Dimes energy was required to report on undocumented and orphaned wells, but that is not the full story. In 2019, a house exploded and it is believed to due so due to the drilling on a nearby hill in Allegany. The drilling is also believed to cause water contamination.Ron and Betty Jo Volz are the residents of the house that exploded, which thankfully were not home when the explosion occurred. Their dog, Hemi, was home, however but she survived thankfully. Now, you may ask why we are bringing this up, is because of a lawsuit with a ton of residents from Allegany has started, and is still going and will be for years. The residents want money for their inconveniences but, the dimes energy claims to “not have the funds”. It is believed the current status of the lawsuit is that they can not drill any more wells but can still service the 400 wells they have in the Allegany county.
